my problem is, changed batteries in my boat and now I get no response from my key,the electric choke works but no starter action.this is a 1988
evinrude 70hp.I am thinking solenoid, putting power from battery to starter activates it ,checked for fuses, none blown that I found.Am I missing something in system between key and solenoid? any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: no ignition

Test the solinoid, its possible there is no continuity on the "start circuit". Could be the ignition switch, a wire, etc. apply twelve volts (jumper wire from + terminal of battery)to the start terminal of your solinoid, and see if it turns over.
