I have a 1987 Boston Whaler Newport with a 90 HP Johnson. Last year my brother ran out of gas while using it. Now the boat will run fine up to about 4000 rpm's but when i go WOT and she's really calling for fuel the motor will bog down. I throttle back and them I'm able to increase the RPM's again. I've been t-shooting my way throught the fuel system. I've replaced the in line fuel filter, the water fuel seperator, put new hoses and replaced the bulb from the fuel tank to the motor. No luck yet. Any ideas of what to clean/replace next? Thanks!

Possible the fuel pump is getting weak. When it won't run full rpm's try constantly priming the fuel hose bulb. This will force extra fuel into the carbs. If it speeds up and runs ok, you may need a new pump.

Also, you might want to flush the float bowls, and you might have some debris in the high speed jets.

Take the drain screws out of the float bowls one-by-one and give the primer bulb a squeeze or two to flush the bowls. The jets are behind and aligned with the drain plugs at the bottom of the float bowls.
