trailer roller problems

I have a 2006 Regal 2400 on a 5 Starr trailer, the trailer has rollers in the rear and bunks in the front.
The center keel roller was worn out, no rubber left, it was down to the metal in the center, because it appears the the bunks are too far appart with all of keel siting on the center roller.
Which in turn bent the center roller down in the middle and did some damage to the keel.
I would like to move in the bunks which would lift the boat higher and create more space to be able to replace the center roller set up. I've looked at current trailers and the single center keel roller has been replaced with a bracket that has three rollers and also pivots. My curent roller is fixed.

Has any one had similar experiences and any other thoughts or solutions.
thanks

Re: trailer roller problems

Do you have the proper tongue weight now? Moving your front bunks closer together will not only lift the bow but eliminate some of your tongue weight which could affect they way your rig tows. Can you move the keel roller up a tad so its not taking the brunt of the weight allowing your bunks to do the job. Can you post a pic?
