Sounds like a classic case of dirty/gummed up carbs. Have they ever been cleaned?...not just stuff sprayed into them, but actually taken apart and cleaned?

If not, time to get a manual and dig in. Isn't really very difficult, but having the manual handy with picutures and step-by-step instructions sure makes life easier. While you've got them apart, be sure to install new gaskets, floats, etc....(generally all found in a "carb kit" available from any dealer)

Good luck.

I agree. If you have good spark and compression then it can only be fuel delivery. It is that simple. It's just not always that simple figuring it out or finding the problem. Clean the carbs and see what happens.....good luck

You all are great!! the carbs were nasty to say the least. Being a old bosn, I was generally the boat driver not the boat fixer. The carbs were no problem with the right book and a lot of desire to get the boat on the water. Thanks for all the advice.:)
