Need to replace a bunk on my tandem trailer for my 20' Sea Ray and in searching for bunk material, can't find anywhere the old style "black" turf covering.

Can it still be found? If not, can I use a higher grade outside carpet material from Lowes or Home Depot or is the material from a boating catalog specially made for boating use?

When I was younger and into flat bottoms, big blocks and heart pounding acceleration, the trailer bunks were covered with household carpet.

Thank you

Re: Bunk Material

I just bought some that comes in 12 inch width and 12 foot rolls off of eBay.

Seems pretty good, I'm going to install my new bunks this week.

Re: Bunk Material

I just got some indoor/outdoor stuff at Lowes. 18"X12' was $7.00. I have a light aluminum boat so it should be fine. And I have enough left over for 20 years!

I just ordered the "old style black covering" from Overtons.com. They have widths of 4", 8" tc. Give them a try.
