According to power pack number and coil numbers..its a early 80's 25 horse...or even a 35 since the 35 uses same pack ....
put a 0 in front of those numbers and do a parts search ..you see the years it is used on..nothing in the 60's thats for sure...
your motor has CD2 ignition..it was not around in the 60's...
As said in your other post> I have same motor its a 35 hp...1983..they look like brother and sister...mine is electric start and not a tiller is all....
ok we determined not a 1964 does anyone recognize this carb to now what is behind the drain plug for the high speed is there suppose to be a part there or are they built with out

That certainly looks a lot like my '81 25hp except for the thru hub exhaust. So I would guess it to be a 80's 20hp or mid 80's 25hp motor.
Anyway, your carb does look like mine. I'm not sure I understand the question though, but that's a drain screw for the carb bowl. I loosen that drain screw to bleed off any unwanted gas before winter.
the reason i'm asking is is there suppose to be a orfic plug like the older models have behind the drain plug or is there suppose to be nothing just a small hole
well, for what it's worth, the parts list for my '81 25 does call out an orifice plug (#30). Again, we haven't nailed down your model for certain.
edit: by the way, did you look for the freeze plug? Mine has the model number on it. It should be on the side in your first pic. Look for a silver disc not too far from the fuel filter/pump.
great thanks for help i will be waiting on the edge of my seat for this one, like i said when i took bowl off there was nothing just green powdery stuff so i took it there was nothing i don't know if something fell out i didn't realize but i was carefull
Thanks for the pics. I will take a closer look at my carb this evening. I'm pretty sure your motor is newer than mine because you don't have the air silencer.
FYI. You can look-up the orifice plug part number here.
Again, I would look for the freeze plug. Mine has the model and serial number stamped on it.
i got a funny feeling that this motor was stolen before it has a tag saying it's a 1964 18hp but it's apprently from the 80's so i think someone put the old tag on i don't know anymore i'm going crazy!!!! i realize it's going to easy to find parts but it's the carb giving me problems with that high speed jet if we can find my carb to see what's behind drain plug, orfic plug or not ???
thanks jasper i appreciate all the help one last question is there suppose to be an high speed orfic plug behind drain plug no matter what model or year
i have 4 OMC manuals from 81 to 87...1983 was a binder ..don't have that one..but are 20-35 hp and 1 is 9.9 to 30....all show a high speed orfice behind the plug....the carb in my 80 book shows your carb exact..25hp...
the 35 has a plastic bowl..the 25 a metal bowl....also shows a welch plug to the left of the fuel pump near the coils....behind the connect on your pic....
as far as carb parts I would buy nothing but OMC ...any updates to the parts they have done it....and get a whole carb kit....do it all while its apart....oull the welch plug on the carb clean and wire it out ,,pull the shot out..clean in there....new float valve seats.....do the whole thing....its around 32 for the kit...
OK i'm starting to narrow down for high speed orific plug
i still can't find identical carb with choke bracket so i have been comparing to other years and they keep mentioning prt# 0324020 orific plug 49d
# 0319831 " " 59d
sometimes part#0324020 would say orific plug 25 only, but does not mention 49d is this the same plug because this is the one i think i need?
