Yes, fuel starvation. I'm asuming you have changed all the fuel filters.

Yes. Added water separator too & replaced pump. Only thing that hasn't been changed/maintained is siphon valve.

Went over the old post and had a couple of questions. Did you ever run a remote tank of gas?

And if that was ok, have you changed the coil and wires. Sorry if I missed that but tha coil & wires could be breaking down at higher RPM's

Yes to everything except running it on a remote tank (sorr, Internet is limited to an iPhone while on vacation this week so I'm keeping answers short).

I might see if I can get a non-siphon NPT fitting from the local NAPA to bypass the siphon valve and see what happens.

Btw, gas is water-free & even through in some Seafoam for good measure (grasping at straws).

I'm wondering if you just have a tank of bad gas?? Also just because you have changed the fuel water seperator don't exclude it.
Keep an eye on it as it may have filled back up with water.

Try the remote gas tank thing if you can to troubleshoot bad gas or try to live with the problem till you can burn up that tank of old gas and refill & stabil a fresh tank of gas and go from there.

Sampled the current tank of gas when I put the separator & new pump on 1-2 weeks ago. Sample in a clear baby food jar hasn't seperated ANY water at all yet. So I'm pretty confident the gas is good.

Do these tests.
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=283269
and don't just say I check this or changed that, do the tests and post what your gauge reading are and what you found in the clear hose.

I've looked at those tests & I will do them as soon as possible, however we're at a rental cottage on the lake for the week & don't have access to the stuff to make the guage. I understand there's a point where it's not possible to diagnose a problem without the right tools, but was fishing for any other ideas to try while here.

Ran it straight from a gas can & seemed to be slightly better, though I noticed it still sputtered and bogged a couple times. Replacing the anti-siphon and will try to get a clear line hooked up between the water separator and pump to see if there's any bubbles. At this point I'm thinking carb again despite my rebuild last year. (Wishing I lived a lot closer to water to troubleshoot this crap!)
