I am rebuilding my 74 Glastron Volvo/Ford 302 and I believe the use what is called a flex plate which attaches to the flywheel and is connected to a splined shaft. Does anyone know a source for such a thing?

Sounds like you're referring to the vibration damper. Its available on another site new for $350.

Might want to check ebay.

Also, glastron was using the volvo outdrives on their own 302s back then. They didn't label a 302 with the volvo name until 1976 model year and used it only in '76 and '77. I suspect the part is the same but who knows.

Whats wrong with the one you have now?

They are all over the place, as they are the same as used on inboards with BW Velvet Drive trannys.

Well, a flex plate and a flywheel are two version of the same thing. The flex plate is the auto tranny version of the flywheel. Are you looking for the flywheel/flexplate itself, or the coupler?
