hi everyone , well i went out and bought a 12 volt water supply pump for the boat so the wife has her tap working while we are out on the lake . my problem is i cant figure out how this hooks up to my water supply line . the people i bought the boat from said it did not work when they bought it from the owner who bought it brand new . do i need to install a t coupler where i have the fresh water tank line and the dock side water line going into the t and one line going into the pump and the out going out to the tap ? thanks everyone ...

Not sure what you are trying to do. If it is to boost the pressure you would put it in line. Where does the waters supply line go now? Come from?

This diagram shows a check valve but you could use a ball valve to switch from for dockside supply and your 12 volt pump.

hi everyone , right now i just have the dock water supply ,that one just screws onto the side of the boat and goes straight to the tap in the cabin , what i have to find is the line coming out of the 10 gallon fresh water tank and somehow the two lines need to go into a tee so one line goes into the 12 volt water pump, and i have one line coming out that goes to the tap .. thanks

That doesn't sound quite right. if your boat is big enough to be equipped for dockside water supply, you must also have a water heater in there somewhere.

I think you need to follow the schematic Captainskip supplied and figure out where all those parts are located on your boat. That'll clarify where/how you need to plumb the new pump.

Definitely do a full inspection, if there is an original pump in the line it may work. Perhaps there is an unknown switch, blown fuse, tripped breaker, or loose connection. And if there is a bad pump that's probably where you'd end up putting the replacement one.
If the boat has a fresh water tank there is likely a way to get at the water in the tank without using shore pressure.

Re: 12 volt water supply .

the boats 12 volt water pump had a crack on the one side , i could go down in the cabin and flick the breaker on and it would run,but what i am saying is it had no water line going into it or coming out of it , the person must have bypassed it some how when it got the crack in it , i am thinking that my fresh water tank and my dockside water line have to go into a tee and one going into the pump and then the other side going out to the tap in the cabin , i think ..
