I have an 2005 Doral 190BR with a Volvo Penta 4.3 Gi engine. The engine has less then 50 hours on it and I have been having problems as of late with restarting the engine after its been running at full throttle.
After running it hard for about twenty minutes or so the engine will not start back up. It will try to turn over but the engine is choked out and stop running. The only way to get it up and running is to strip the steel cover of the throttle body assemble (not sure on the proper name but when engine is running I see fuel being squirted into the intake manifold) and open the throttle to vent out the fumes from the intake manifold.
Once back started she runs like a champ so my question is what could be causing this to happen. I didn't think a Electronic Fuel Injection would flood itself out. Is there a simple valve adjustment to make or could there be something seriously wrong with the engine?
Second, what kinda of fuel consumption is normal for a 4.3, I burn through a 20 gallon tank
in a about 8-9 hours of tubbing and water skiing & Etc.
any tips would be great
Thanks for looking
