Yes the 530 and 531 heads are interchangeable. However the 531 head has better flow, and is easier tuneable.
It is possible you will loose a few ponies, but nothing worth worrying about.
The 531 heads are getting harder to find these days, and the prices on these heads are usually higher then the 530's. Go for the 530 head and enjoy your boat rather then spending time and money sourcing a 531.
