Merc Outdrive Stabilization

Just a thought. Is there such a device that "bolts on" to the outdrive that would assist stabilization of the unit due to worn pivot and tilt bearings?

You could try retorquing your gimble bearing clamping screws to 55 ft lbs. They are the two bolts (with nuts on backside) at the top of the gimbal ring. Should be done every year. Might help tighten things up. Good luck.

Ayuh,... there Is,.... It's New Parts, to bring it back to spec...

YEH BUT "PARTS CHEAP, LABOR MUCH!" I bought the boat, '82 Grady White, for $3300 two years ago and going out for my third sea trial today. I now have a grand total of $12,500 in her. Think I'm going to have to keep her and have a Viking burial when its my time.
