This is a pic of where the acc pump goes down into the carb, just wanting to make sure this is correct when i pulled it out it looked like this? The manual says pull that spring out and tip it upside down and a ball should come out, well i did, and saw the little snap ring in there and took it out the ball is stuck in there is that ok? i see the new kit has 3 balls but all i can tell is there is one and the hole just above it (strainer?) i believe around it has nothing in it at all or anything ever in it. just want to make sure this is all correct because the boat was having major hesitation issues on acceleration so i was told acc pump! thanks.

It's been a long time but I don't think your supposed to remove that one, was it a snap ring you removed or a stake pined bar? I believe it's the check ball for the accereator pump and it has to be there to work.

it was just a little round wire, basically a snap ring

If it was a snap ring, how did u get it out? Are u sure it wasen't part of the spring? Snap rings usually don't just fall out. And that ball has to come out & a new one put in. That's why it's in the rebuild kit.

i suppose it could have been part of the return spring, never thought of that, just used a little needle nose to get it out, the ball is stuck down in there whats the purpose of it? also in the kit there is that ball and two little ones any idea?

They're check balls & need to be replaced. Get a can of compressed air & give the ball a shot. It should come out. One of the other balls goes in the accelerator pump well. If I were u I'd get a manuel. I'm not being a wiseass, but if u don't remenber where these parts go, how are going to get it back together the right way? Get it wrong & you'll be tearing it apart again. Just my .02.

It's a check ball, fuel gets drawn around it and then it seals the other direction allowing to build pressure for the shot of fuel to squirt out the dispersal nozzles.
The other balls in thekit are actually weights, you only use one and I believe it goes just above the needle jet, don't you have an exploded view with your kit?

there is an exploded view, just weird i never saw the other ball, the exploded view is a little hard to understand because everything is so close together in it to, theres a t handle as well thats the last thing i can understand where it goes, since i never saw a t handle the whole way through, unless its on like a some models need it type thing

Just trying to keep your thread active. I'm sure there's a ton of guys here that can do that carb blindfolded, I'm just not one of them.
