Re: 1982 Suzuki DT85 - Oil injection quit
You might want to go slow on this. If the pump drive shaft is not removed the pump will run without oil and seize. Damage will ensue.
I recently reinstalled the oil pump on my small (DT9.9C - about 1988) Suzuki. It was relatively easy to set up to bench test operation of the pump. It had been sucking air in - small bubbles sometimes visible in the outlet hose - not a good sign, so I removed it and ran 50:1 in the meantime. I replaced the hoses with OEM Suzuki parts, including new hose clamps, all available at reasonable cost (well for OEM parts the price wasn't too bad) and more or less available off the shelf. The correct type of thick-walled outlet hose and proper operation of check valves is critical. A complete replacement pump was even available (but not needed) at a cost of around US$150.
