Hi, anyone changed the check valves on these blocks yet? What does the removal consist of and what tools are needed?

Re: 1994 Johnson 150 Oceanrunner check valves

Why I am asking is that my 1994 J150 EXERV, the 3 check valves (holes) that are inside the block crankcase inline with the 3 crank bearings are different from the 1992/1993 block I purcahsed as a replacement. The 3 check valves on the 1994 block are as follows, the top one you can see straight through and the other 2 you can't. Is this normal for the top? The 1992/1993 block has them that all 3 you can see straight through. Is this how it should be?

I have a 1994 150, I have no idea what these check valves are,
do you mean recirculation valves?

The recirculation valves I know about and these are fine but you wouldn't see the 3 inside the crankcase unless you open your motor up. They look like the recirculation valve somewhat but a little different.

Ok well maybe you guys know them as recirculation valves which is what they do but in part term they are listed as check valves if you need to order. I was wondering if any of you have checked these out in detail yet like how they operate and so forth. If you remove your carburetor assembly on one of these v6 60 degree J150 (probably others motors as well) you will see 6 on each bank so a total of 12 installed in the intake manifolds. Can you look and see which direction it allows air/fuel to travel and like I said these are internal and not the external elbow fittings that operate the other valves which are the 6 (3 on each side of the block behind the intake manifold) which act the same way but I want to know what you guys have or find because I have replaced my 12 intake manifold ones with the tiny screens behind them in the intake manifold but are the newer version so curious to know what you have take some pics if you can/want and post and I will do the same.
