volvo penta 270 trim problem

I have a 1982 glastron with an 270 penta volvo outdrive lowered outdrive went out for a ride hit a big wave bounced pretty hard , when going in to shore went to raise trim nothing worked had to manually release and tie up outdrive to reload on trailer , got it home removed doghouse and can hear switch click but nothing happens looking for suggestions if there is a micro switch or something that may be stuck or not or if there is any other symptom that may be happening. has 4 cyl. aq125a motor in glastron ssv-177 any help would be great thankyou

check your connections at the motor. You can also check for voltage at the motor. It sounds like your switch is working.

thankyou for the reply as it is dark now so i will check voltage and connections after work tommorrow let you know how i made out I know it has to be something simple

went out today and jumped wires of motor outdrive raised a little slow but went up reconnected and switch let it go down but not back up looking local for new relays hope to have found problem

hello again well changed relays worked for a second than nothing happened i bought a new motor installed it and once again nothing happend i bolted the motor in place went to test motor [different wire colors] was checking to see which wire was up and down and got nothing , not sure how to recheck if properly grounded while boat is on trailer if that is a problem or not, when if hooked the wires to the control box i can here the relays moving but nothing works ,, lost!! my manual doesnt tell me how to test motor if not working could use some real good advise thankyou

So it worked for a second then when back to clicking. I sounds like it is in the control box, power not getting to the motor. I guess i would go through the wiring to make sure all is good. Check your voltage at the motor. See if any voltage is getting there.

there is a ground that should be attached to one of the bolts at the base of the tilt mech. Mine has it anyway. Don't know if that's your problem.

Is your indicator light at the helm working properly?
