I need a new trim pump for my 1988 Alpha 1.
I can't see any problem with the solenoids, fuses and brackets just the motor.
Looking on some sites and ebay i can get a non mercruser motor, pump and tank for $225 .
Or I can get the mercruser full unit with bracket, harness etc for $400.
Or i can get an non mercruser full unit (SEI) for $300.
Also, the non mercruser stuff doesn't have the SAE J1171 sticker. Does this mean anything?
Hard to pay to fix what is not broken but not sure of the quality of the other units or if i should just replace all while it's out.
Any advice?
