Hello all. My boat is a 16" Lund Renegade with a 1988 Suzuki dt-75 on it. I have only owned it for about 1 year and it has never ran well. Heres what it does..... it starts right up using the choke and will idle ok, when i put it into gear it will either die or idle ok then when i put it into gear and gas it it will bog down and not get the rpms up. If im sitting at idle and use the neutral throttle handle it revs up with no problem. Im not getting any alarms or idiot lights so i have done the odvious and replaced the plugs, fuel filter, drained float bowls, compression are all around 115#. Nothing was dirty or looked that bad. I ran it this weekend at Castlerock lake and it ran good a few times but most of the time it was bogging and smelling like gas. A few times it jumped up and ran like a champ. Thanks Ted

The fuel is fresh as of this year. When i drained the float bowls and changed the fuel filter it was clean with no crap in there.

Fresh this year means it could be 6-7 months old, and if it is e-fuel that maybe a problem

being that it has never run properly for you I would pull and clean carbs and adjust all linkages and sync the carbs according to the manual, passages/jets will plug as fuel evaporates out of the carbs, lines, and pump.
check the fuel pump for holes/tears in diaphragm, check timing to see if it is advancing properly as the problem is occurring. The timing light will also show if a cylinder is loosing spark by moving it to the different plug wires

5 gal. fuel 3 mos old and 7 gal. 3 days old. I just pulled carbs off and opened them up. Found quite a bit of crap in them. I pulled the floats and jets and cleaned them good. Now im going to read my manual to find out about sync and adjustments then hopefully off to the lake tomorrow. Thanks Guys!!!

Just remember that that stuff had to come from somewhere and the lines and pump may have more in them that will hit the carbs unless you clean them out and the tank. Hopefully you have a 10 micron water/fuel separator/fuel filter installed before it hits the motor
