Hello Everyone. I am new to this board. In fact I'm new to working on boats, also. The seat and vinyl flooring are in rough shape so I pulled out every, thing today. The seat and base are badly rotton, The flooring was peeling badly also. I power washed the inside of the boat out and things look better already. There is a small area that will need some fibre glass repair. I thinking,
of painting the floor instead but not sure of what to use. How about some sort of truck box liner pair. Does anyone have any idea's of what to use.
Bellow are a couple of photos of the boat

Is this an Out board or an Inboard? Does the Deck have soft spots? Is the Transom solid?

The boat has a 70hp outboard. the floor seems very solid other than a small crack in the fibreglass near where the battery sits.

How about the Transom. that is the Back part of the Boat where the motor attaches. If you push the motor up and down does the Transom flex at all??

Ok, Based on what I am seeing in your photos, the brown spots are bare fiberglass. It also appears that the deck is cracked and that water could and probably has been able to intrude into the lower sections of the hull. This leads me to believe you could have some issues below he deck. If you do NOT want to explore this possibility then you could be just repairing a cancer that will haunt you in the future. Nevertheless, at the very least you should cut out and replace any and all soft spots, sand away all loose and frayed fiberglass and replace the cut out parts of the deck and reglass everything with 1708 biax cloth and epoxy resin. But again I would Highly recommend further extensive investigation into the overall character of the underdeck condition of that boat.

Thank-you Woodonglass. the fibre glass is lifting on that edge. I have gone this far and may as well cut out the lifting fibreglass and see what is going on under there. Thank-you for your help. :)

Overall that is a nice looking boat and well worth the effort to restore it the right way. It does not take much to do a LOT of damage below the deck. Take your time, do the proper investigation, and repair it the right way. You will have a boat that is safe and will last a LONG time.
