Fuel Delivery at idle

77 Evinrude 55hp 2cyl. pump the ball, get some fuel in the clear inline filter right before the ball. Fire her up and the inline filter slowly clears of fuel. Give her some revs in neutral and fuel pours in the filter. Let her idle and fuel gets used up. Is this a common problem? I don't want to sweat it if its a normal condition. fuel pump is new. I went through connections, none appear to be leaking in air, and if they were wouldn't it get worse w/throttle not better?

I hate clear fuel lines, shows things that you think about when nothing is wrong.
Does the engine ever stall at idle and you have to pump the bulb to get it started? If not don't worry about it.

It'll stall idling in neutral. In gear it seems to be ok but thats with a little more throttle. a little rev in N and gas starts filling up in the clear filter, drop it back and the gas slowly disappears and then the motor stalls out. i think i might have an air leak above the clear filter. (or the clear filter itself)
