I need to get a price on voltage regulator mercruiser part number 99502A13. I tried iboats.com but they do not carry that part. Any other sources that are reliable & reasonable (preferrably both).

I may also need to price a rebuilt alternator assembly as well.

Next question? How long should these regulators last? I bought & had one installed in 2005. Now my charging system is not working. Any other alternatives to this type of regulator to keep my battery charged. I heard about an alternate to the above regulator part.

The charging system on those is a POS, well known issue. For the price of a regulator, you can convert to a normal alternator, and have more amps to play with to boot! Apparently, they did not learn a thing from the Renault days.....

Do you happen to still have the part number on the conversion you bought?

How hard was it to do yourself? What do you do with the old voltatage Regulator & the wiring attached?

My motor is a 3.7 LX (1988 model).

No part number, just the low mount kit from Breezeworks.

No more difficult than changing your plugs.

I disconnected and taped the wire from the regulator to the starter, then I pulled the harmonic balancer and removed the stator and wires from the old regulator. If you don't want to pull the balancer, just remove and tape off the wires that go to the regulator.
