I have a 50 hp force that got pretty hot,i changed out the impeller and the thermostat,water is spittin out the p hole now but i have a major leak on the left side of the motor,could this be a gasket or something worse?

Jamesprince, You'll get a much better response if you title the thread better - something like "overheated and now leak" or similar to give a better description. In any case, where and what exactly is it leaking.

sorry new to this site,the motor is leaking water on the left side of the motor if you were looking from behind.looks like about 15 nuts holding on first plate and the leak is on the other side of that,looks like there may ba a gasket there.thanks.

That is the exhaust plate and yes there is a gasket there. Generally easy to fix as long as you can locate the gasket and remove all the bolts without snapping them. That will probably be the hardest part of the repair. Be careful and try not to break any of the bolts (use lots of penetrating oil - i like pb blaster) and slow rocking motions. If any do break, you'll need to drill them out and install helicoils.

It would help to know what year the motor is.

Yes could just be a gasket.

thanks for the feedback,where do i get pb blaster?and whats a helicoils? im not very mech.inclined.
