It has very low hours (under 100 for sure). I put it in the shed abut 20 years ago and it was in fine working condition (though scuffed up from riding in the car trunk). I sprayed WD40 in the cylinders, pulled it through and had to stop it from trying to run on WD40! Its been sitting there ever since.

A friend wants to buy it. I don't want to cheat him or myself. What do you think a fair price would be?

$3-400 IMO if it's in great shape, $200 if it needs some work or you could just give it to him, I gave my neighbour a 6hp for being a good buddy who helps me out whenever I need help :D

I have seen them go for anywhere from 100 to 250, depending on condition.
After sitting that long there will be some repairs that need to be done, water pump, lower unit oil and maybe some ign work.

I agree with bktheking these motors are getting real hard to find parts for and this one will need parts. Might have fired but hard to tell if it will run right after sitting and it at least needs an impeller. I also beleive these motors used a cork float which if there was gas in the bowls might probably need a new one. Is this guy in need of a good motor or is he looking for a project? Price for this motor around here is 50 to 75 dollars.
