outdrive won't go in all the way

I've swapped motors in My 90 powerquest 222 from a gen 4 to a gen 6 454, everything is in but I can't get the lower unit in all the way. It's lacking about 2 in from seating. Any tricks or do I need a alignment tool?

Try turning the prop slowly by hand while pushing in.

It should be a Bravo.

You might have limit blocks in your trim cyl mounting.

If you are lacking 2" of actually installing the outdrive onto the bellhousing, did you align the engine after installing it?

Well I was stuck on trim limit blocks!!.....(and raw water cooling!!!) I might as well go 3 for 3!!!
