I just purchased a '74 Glassmaster with an older 35HP Johnson motor. It runs great, but I cannot find the VIN number in order to register this outboard in Texas (yes, hulls and motors are registered separately here). Can any be kind enough to suggest where I might find the VIN number. The previous owner restored the boat beautifully, bit he painted the whole engine. I would think the VIN would be inside, but I am a novice at this. I suspect the motor may be as old as the boat.
