What is the best tool to use to get it loose? It's about 3/4" wide....slots for what looks like a screw driver head, but I dont have a wide-head screw driver.

What have you guys used to get it loose? I replaced the tilt trim motor on the unit and lost most of the fluid in doing so. need to refill.

i used a cheapo wide screwdriver and used a grinder to trim it so it would fit in the slot.

I'll run by Home Depot tonight and see if I can find a wide head screwdriver. There's also one of those super cheapo discount tool places up the road I'll check out....

This tilt/trim unit has been a royal pain in the %$#@!#*

Re: Tilt Trim Reservoir plug....

they should build those units to where you can get to the motor screws without having to go thru #@!! to get at them! Very aggravating. But, those tilt trim motors usually last forever. I shorted mine out when I replaced the relays and wiring. lol
