mercruiser 160 motor

about a week ago i picked up a 73 reinell 2230 boat with out motor and drive,
used to have a mercruiser 165 in it.
i found a 160 mercruiser motor in a cheap boat.
i plan on buy the boat and put that motor set up in my boat.
i see that they only had that motor out for 3 years ,1967-1969
why only 3 years
is this a good motor or junk

Same engine, just a slightly different carb....

Yup, same 250cu in Chevy six, good engine.

thanks guys for the info .
what years did they make the
160 motor,one site said 67-69
but i think i read they were out same years as 165
have to call the guy that has boat with the 160 in it
latter to day and see if motor runs and go get it
