Very good on the rebuild. I'm surprised you were able to use the piston, but I guess it wasn't damaged to badly.

DO NOT remove the screw in the front, inline with the propeller shaft.
This is the shift pivot crew. It will cause you all kinds of trouble.

The drain screw is under the torpedo, it is barely visible in the photo.
The top 2 screws are vents.
Remove all 3 to drain.
Fill from the bottom screw, allowing air to escape out the top 2 holes as it fills.

Insert bottom screw, then the 2 top screws.

Pitot must be mounted to boat, leg hanging below the bottom of the hull.

Trim pin / hole selection depends on the boat/hull/weight/engine.

The lowest holes will provide the fastest planing time.
One of the higher holes will allow the hull to level out and usually provides 2-3 more mph.

Trial and error is the answer. Start in lower hole, test drive, move pin up, repeat.

speedo pickup. There is usually a small hose that will connect to it with a pick-up on the other side. It doesn't hurt anything not to have it hooked up though.

are you saying that instead having a pitot attached to the hull of the boat I should just have the air tube stuck on there....I don't understand...thanks
