Poking around Google Books & stumbled on this:

Popular Science 1965

Talks about the cool new tech for 1965 in stern drives! The Roylyn Sea Hawk is the one that really caught my eye - 360deg rotation like a pod (can turn completely around & pull instead of push - don't ask me why) & has adjustable pitch prop! And I thought my Stringer was quirky! :D

that was a fun read superbenk, thanks. i enjoyed the part about the sharkomatic 800. Aristocraft advertised them as being used in there funliner line. hence my interest in the read. some different ideas there for sure. interesting what ending up working.
ya know both mercruiser and vp have drives that spin 360* now i believe. zeus drive and can't remember what vp calls theirs..

WOW, that was a trip to my youth,

I already read that issue- when I was 12! My dad always had a subscription to that and 'Popular Mechanics'

I got a good chuckle over the sidebar article on the latest in sliderules. I actually had to learn to use one of those suckers in high school. The only calculators available (and not until about 1968) only had 5 functions and cost $100! Most schools wouldn't permit them because only the rich kids could afford them.

Ah, man- good read. Thanks!

Westbend Sharkomatic 800- Sounds more like a blender to me than a propulsion unit. Excellent read.
