Hi guys

I have a friend who is looking at this boat

http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/boa/1872874783.html

It looks decent, but we all know how that goes... I havent seen it in person just the pics in the ad. Anyhow, he is dead set on buying this thing. I gave my input but honestly thats all I can do.

In the ad it states it needs a new "pre alpha" outdrive. Im no expert at all but from some reading on the web I think it might be a mercrusier 120 out drive? I was hoping someone else might be able to chime in and lend some help as to what it is, if they are easy to come by and if its worth the trouble.

Thanks
Jeff

Re: Help with outdrive

Hello..

I believe they mean an "R" drive, prior to being known and redesingned as the alpha one.

About $1,300 bucks from SEI here on this site with a 3 year warranty..OR
scrounge craigs list or used and take your chances

1965 is older than MC-1 ... run away - weird drive, tough to find

haha..technically he is right... 1965 was definitely pre-alpha, and pre-everything else from Mercruiser
