You did a great job on the resto by the way.

What size, make and year is that motor?

That is kinda a tough one???

She is quite the unique animal, closed bow, remote steering, 14 footer, totally restored, sentimental value for the lot of us that hang around this place...

I donno. I suppose you could start at $50,000 and go from there, eh!:D

I got $2100 for my 16' Jupiter with an 85HP on it last fall which I was ecstatic to get. I wouldn't sell it till your Holiday is done.

List it for 3k and bring the price down after a week or so to $2500 so folks think they are getting a deal. Then when you lower the price in negotiation you will be ahead of the game and hopefully get more than 2k for it.

If you list it on CL with videos/photos of the boat running and offer to take the buyer for a test run before purchase you should have no problem selling it.

Re: Hey you Michigan Tinheads

Here's my two cents since you asked. I'm no expert by any means but here goes.

One 14 foot Starcraft with 1962 Seaking 40 horse outboard and trailer.

I'm thinking $1300-$1600. Over on the east side of the state you're not getting a lot for a 14 foot boat. There's more boats than people here and unemployment is 15%. I could be wrong, you asked and this is my honest opinion.

Once August is over prices start creeping down. I would pick my price and NOT be in a hurry. Market it well, pictures and a video. Whatever you can think of to let people know this boat is special. You can always drop the price as needed, going the other way is impossible.

I am interested to hear what Kenny (HSF) has to say on this.

Good luck on the sale, I hope you get what you want out of her.

I checked out your ad and it's pretty well written. I'd add that you can lake test it for any buyer that is interested, it adds some credibility/trust even if they don't take you up on the offer.

Yup, I saw your ad to man. Looks great! I'd agree with the man who has a Loon for an avatar...

A video of her running would be sweet and adding in if they wanted to go for a ride says a lot too. This stuff just adds money to your pocket:D

Good luck man!

The correct way to word it is "I'd be happy to make a successful test ride a condition of sale". You are not in the business of taking tire kickers for boat rides.

I don't remember how exactly I worded it in my Jupiter ad but the one guy that responded said "I'm a serious buyer, I'd like a test ride". I took him for a ride and he bought the boat.

Re: Hey you Michigan Tinheads

Just got of the phone with a lady, looking for something for her and her kids to go fishing in. Sounds very interested and wanted to know if we could take it out after she sees it tomorrow. I'll be shocked if it goes this quick. Also had a guy offer $1500 and another offer to trade for a motorcycle. LOL, thats just what I need.

Well the Falcon flew away today, guy from over by Detroit drove over and picked it up. Ended up with $1800 for it which was about the lowest I wanted to go, so Im happy with that. I know for sure I broke even but pretty sure I made a couple hundred bucks once all was said and done.

The old Holiday is going to have to wait a little longer. The woods are calling me.

Ooooo, I have been thinking my bow must be getting lonely. I just hope she isn't getting mad at me yet.
