would you say the decals on the motor look more like this:

It looks like your motor falls somewhere between 1980 and 1983. If it's the second set of decals, it's '83.

1980-83 as it has the new style gearcase with built in speed-o

thank you so much..now i just have to figure out what diagram i need to figure out the ignition.....maybe a thunderbolt ignition thanks for al help
