I have a 1985 Mariner 150 Magnum witrh low hours that has previously ran great. Last time on the lake I was running down the lake and suddenly it would not run at at higher rpms. The engine runs great at start and low rpms but once you give it gas and the rpms go up it just won't go. I opened up the motor and found that the advance module had rattled loose and was bouncing around and I figured this was the culprit. The Part # is 93772A1 which is no longer manufactured. I read a previous thread on this part here on iboats suggesting to get rid of the part because it is problematic and the motor will run fine without it. How do you bypass the part and is this good advise.
