Iboats?

I bought a Westland Sharkskin supreme semi-custom for my bowrider, and couldn't be happier.

That looks like a good one, but I don't believe it snaps on. You'll most likely need to have one made. It won't be cheap, but it should only be a couple hundred bucks more than a semi-custom and will last much longer. Check with local upholstery shops that specialize in boat work for options and prices.

A couple of warnings about putting a cover on a pontoon boat.

1) make sure you have a "vent" space above your seat backs. My cover came down snug and rested across the tops of the seat backs on the boats (even with the center poles supporting the cover, it still rested on the tops of the seat backs on the boat). When the sun beat down on the cover and with a little wind to move the cocover slightly, the inner lining of the cover left a residue on the seat that I could never get off. This was a "sharkskin" type cover. The mark was a black residue (slightly sticky). I started to drape a couple of cheep life vests (the orange type) over the seat backs to keep the cover off the seats. This leads into the next warning...

2) Pontoons are wet, they never dry out completely (unless you don't use it for a long time). If you cover after usage without waiting a week or two you will have a mildew mess UNLESS you provide for lots of ventiliation. The life vest trick I used about let air in and out of the covered boat very well. My top was a snap on and didn't let much air move in or out without providing a path for air movement.

If you go with a custom cover made of a Sunbrella type fabric (Some swear by Top Gun. I'm not familiar with it, but it's supposed to be as good or better) you won't have any of these issues. It will breathe, thereby greatly reducing or eliminating mildew issues (I never get any mildew under mine), and it's colorfast and won't leave behind any residue (again speaking from firsthand experience). Well worth the extra few hundred bucks if you can swing it.

I was refering to the sharksin type cover. Do you have a sunbrella cover for your pontoon ? I've got sunbrella on my bowrider and it has vents sewn in, I know without these vents it would not let the quantity of moisture out that's contained in the wet carpet/floor of a pontoon. My pontoon stayed wet the entire summer, if I ever get another one it will have aluminum decking and a snap in carpet and open storgage under the seats.
