Working on a Johnson 140TL77S total rebuild bored .030 over
Ran well during break-in, rebuilt carbs to fix excessive fuel leak and now the only way I can keep it idling is by working the choke. Runs great from approx. 3000-5000rpm.

Are the low idle orifices side specific? And if so which to where? (Book does not say.)
Or is my problem somewhere else?

Thank You,

Are all of your jets clean? Did you run a wire thru the passageways ? It sounds like something may be clogged in your idle circuits. Also, on my 150 crossflow, each barrel had the same size jet. For instance, I have 2 33's for idle, 29c's for intermediate and 59c's for primary. But they all should be the same for each side. If you have a looper, all bets are off because I don't know what type of carb is on it. I just know it is different from the crossflow's carbs.

to double-check my numbers, see the electronic parts catalogue at shop.evinrude.com

jtexas,
I looked at Shop Evenrude and couldnt find upper orifice size, just part number. Anywhere to use part# to get the size?
I'll check my carbs and see if your numbers work.
Thanks

Checked carbs has #28/#29 in both upper and lower.
Dont think thats to big of an issue or is it?

Do believe problem was more from air in fuel line. New fittings and idled great cant wait to try it out.

Thanks for the help
