Searches of past posts on this topic have resulted in messages from Steve Huminski. I would be very interested in communicating with you, Steve since you have successfully installed this electronic ignition on your boat with very positive results. After installing the Delco EST according to the manufacturer's instructions on my boat, I'm having trouble getting it started. It seems to want to kick over but doesn't quite start. I've drained the charge on the battery and recharging now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Charles

Did you follow the timing procedure? The timing will be way off if you don't. You have to jump the two white wires together and trigger (and hold) the microswitch on the shift V-fork thingy to get it into base timing mode. Then you can set your timing.

I'm using the jumpered connector that came with the distributor.

It Sounds like Either the Timing is Way Off,
Or, the Firing Order is Wrong.......
Firing Order is 1-3-4-2.........
Timing at 6*BTC.........
