Old evinrude outboard.. What year??

I recently acquired an old old evinrude outboard. I have no idea what horse it is or how old it is and was wondering if anyone can help me. If Anyone knows of a better place to post this please let me know. Thanks!!<br /><br />The Model # is: 3502A <br />The Serial # is: B37744

No, here's the right place. That's a 1965 5.28CID 2 cylinder evinrude. It develops 3hp at 4000rpms. The original sparkplug is a Champion J6J, now a J6C. Fuel oil mix is 50:1. <br /> Picture. <br /><br />Common problems are ignition coils cracked from age, and the hidden fuel filter clogging. The fuel filter is above the brass nut on the fuel tank, where the fuel line hooks up.<br />Otherwise, these are very nearly indistructable engines. Once tuned up they're great runners. 3 of the 8 zodiacs (used for tenders) at a local yacht club are powered by them.<br />Manuals are available here.

How many times can you say the same thing differently <br />I would hate to repeat myself! <br /><br />EDIT: Oh, yeah, I forgot CID wouldn't make much sense to a metric. I should get in the habit of reporting both...

Hello Paul,

I just picked up one of these 3 hp evinrudes 3502A and i am wondering if they tend to run hot? I have some water spitting out of the discharge and it comes out cool. The water pump is in good shape but like i said not much water spitting out the discharge. If you have any info on this that would be great. Thanks
