Re: Thunderbolt IV ignition Module- ONLY 1 THING LEFT
FBT, bummer man, i feel yer pain. sorry ya can't get up to speed. i can't remember all the things ya have done trying to get wot. but i can remember that ya had a few years between yer boat year and your boat motor year. i got the feeling that it had been repowered. also seems like i think ya said that ya knew it was the proper drive ratio. have you really checked the ratio. physicaly. seems that ya have done a lot to that motor trying to get it up to speed. haven't read that ya tried a new prop either. maybe go down a few pitches see if ya get the 200rpm differece from what ya got to the new one. 1 degree less is 200 more rpm, right. 3200 to 3400. or also remember ya saying that ya weren't sure about what drive it had initally since it was in the water. have ya had it out of the water? maybe ya got a dirty bottom. i know i'm reachin here but you've tried every thing else out. lots of new parts and lots of tests. <br />i know yer proud of yer ablility to fix boats, but there is always the merc. dealer. i don't know what yer background is, but there comes a time when ya may need to have the real boat mechs. look at it if ya want it right. i know that cause im the same way. i want to have the satisfaction of fixing it myself. but there comes a time when it may be time to eat yer ego (i did recently over adj. the shift cable of all things)and have some professional help. i am in a service industry and sometimes repair things that others have worked on but just can't get it. i got years of experices at what i do so am likely to just have a feel for what i do. bet boat mechs are the same way. at least thats what the mercrusier dealer told me about how i adj. my shift cable. that he had 20 years experice and knew how to adj. them. he was right in my case as i can shift now. hope ya find yer problem i know it's eatin at ya. not much for new ideas for ya but the best i can think of and i know ya want it fixed, good luck.......
