good to be back. i'm confused. manual shows 2 application of cooling system. 1/ single hose to bottom of manifold. 2/ hose to manifold and hose to elbow/riser. i am seawater cooled. changing from bat wings to 2 piece. what's the difference in these applications, and witch should i do.

I'm guessing here, but........I would think for raw water cooled system that you would only need the single hose......Unless you have some sort of restrictor plate between the riser/manifold.....What does the flow chart show? That should show what you need to do.....I think you would just need the one though......JK

If you have a thermostat housing that only has 4 hose connections on it, you can only go to the bottom of the manifold. Note the gasket is a restrtictor gasket. See page 6A3 of the Merc service manual.
