One of the alpha drive pivot pin zerks comes off sometimes when greasing it.This particular one requires me to push the grease gun pretty hard on it to take the grease. The zerk usually stays in the grease gun when done.It screws back on and stays in place until the next greasing just fine.I ground down the area a slight bit to get the zerk to screw in a bit deeper and it is better but still comes off sometimes.I am thinking of cleaning the threads up really good with degreaser and applying something like jb weld to the threads to secure it in better.Any ideas what to use????

I'd just chase the treads with a 1/4X28 Tap,+ Install a New Zert........

Chances are,.. It's the Zert that's partially Stripped......

I thought it may be the zert as well so I swapped it with its next door neighbor and same result.I assume the tap would just clean up the threads??

How about putting a drop of red threadlocker on the fitting threads.

I dont think thread locker will take up what ever gap there is that is allowing the zert to come off.

Hi Charlie, I believe you can get zerk fittings in 1/8 ptf. (pipe thread fitting) that is a little larger than the 1/4-28. maybe you could tap out the hole to match the larger size. the grease nipple is the same...
