I have a Yamaha Sterndrive V6 4.3 on my old 1993 Century motorboat. Started it up and ran it for about ten minutes and it stalled out and won't restart. Yes there is gas in it. After messing around with I found that there is no gas getting up to the carburator. I'm thinking it may be the fuel pump. Any thoughts.... Also I'm told that this particular fuel pump is no longer being made. Can I substitute with another pump?. Thanks for your input

In a well vented area you can crack the fuel nut at the carb to see if it is getting fuel. Or rig a fuel pressure gauge in line, I think a manual pump should be 5-7 psi. If you have worked on the carb or lines make sure you put the carb filter in the right way my stupid <br />?ss did that once and wasted 1/2 day chasing.

Wouldy, Also check the anti siphon valve. It may be located in the fuel pickup tube, at the 90 degree elbow. They clog!

I am also having a problem with lack of fuel at the carb with the electric fuel pump. The fuel drains out of the fuel pump and will not prime itself when i try to start it a couple days later. Is there a check valve in the pump or somewhere else? thanks Mike
