power trim assembly 165 omc

I have an 1976 165 hp omc i/o I do not have A power trim on it and have been trying to find some info on them or even some pic's of the actual unit and how it works but not having any luck. is there A diagram or pic's anywhere ?? thank's for any info

They are all different, depending upon the year and engine. it's either a motor driven screw jack on the front motor mount or hydraulic rams on the motor mounts. A Seloc manual will give you the best illustration of the various setups. <br /><br />If you are contemplating trying to add on this feature, your $$ may be better spent in a set of Smart Tabs.

Most inline engines used a worm screw and electric motor to lift the front of the engine, thus tipping the whole powertrain.<br /><br />Where in Canada spine? I have two (I think two) trim systems for the inline engines - I think the motor's dead on one and the worm gear is seized on the other, or something... someone could probably make one out of the two.<br /><br />The smart tabs might be the way to go too though. New, reliable stuff..

I am in kelowna british columbia. and I do need the worm screw type I don't really need the trim but would like the extra speed on the top end just because!

I am also on the hunt for the ball gears for the 165 hp right now also
