Mercruiser trim pump help please

I got most of my home made trim system done today. Now I have questions. <br /><br />1, When the pump is running does it run fast going down and slow going up? If I remember correctly from my old pump it was a fast high pitched whine (even without the trim cylinders unhooked from the outdrive) closing the trim cylinders and a steady, slow, low pitched hum when raising the outdrive. <br /><br />2, Is the outlet that comes out the bottom of the trim pump (not the one that comes out to one side) the high pressure side? And that side should be used to raise the outdrive? <br /><br /><br />

As far as speed that the pump runs it will sound differant because of the pressure thats involved but the speed is about the same and you have the outlets labeled properly the bottom or high pressure raises the unit
