Albatross or Delta Ski Boats

I grow up in the UK, in the 50’s & 60’s the hot ski boat was an Albatross, all aluminum 2 seater with a Ford side valve with direct drive. I think they made a longer hull that could seat 4 people in two separate cockpits. I think Albatross went out of business in the 60’s and then a very similar styled boat called the Delta, made from glass fiber took over as the hot boat. The Delta’s I remember had a 3.0 L V6 Ford driving through a gearbox and were really fast and could turn on a dime (penny).<br />Does anyone know if either of these boats was imported into North America? I have searched the web and cannot find any trace of them, even in the UK. I really would like to find one to renovate for old times sake!<br />Any info would be appreciated

OH WOW! Yes Sir.... Them Aussies made some wild little inboard ski boats... I have only seen a few, and then only on TV being used in waterski tournaments in the land down under...<br /><br />Far as I know, the only two models i can think of that were picked up by US manufacturers and produced here in the US were the Flightcraft, and the Moomba...

Snapperbait,<br />I know about the Moomba and found some info on the Flightcraft, however neither is like the Albatross or Delta boats I am thinking about. I guess I will have to continue searching ebay UK to see if any come up for sale. I am amazed that there seem to be so few for sale in the UK, they were so common when I was a teenager!

WWW.GLENL.COM<br /><br />Check it out. A number of their inboard boat projects are that same old-style 2 cockpit inboard. A good bit more work, but it sounds like that's what your looking for.

Dunno if these threads are still current but the nearest thing I can offer is a flag for the Albatross, it is currently on Ebay, I'm assuming the Aussie comment was a joke, the Albatross & Delta boats were built in Norfolk England.
