Troubles with Gluvit

I recently applied gluvit to my hull and had a problem controlling the thickness, what I'm left with is a very strong epoxy coating, but patches of really thick epoxy that need to be sanded. I tried sanding, but it gums up the sandpaper really fast. Is there an easier way? I did a search and someone said that they put auto primer on it and it helped, but I'm not really sure about that. Any suggestions?

Re: Troubles with Gluvit

I had the exact same problem. Here's what I did to sand it back fair. I sprayed the hull with automotive primer from a spray can. This allowed me to sand the gluvit with MUCH less gumming and also to see inperfections much easier.
http://www.picturetrail.com/outonbizniz
My webpage shows some of this.

OOps...I guess you already found my post about auto primer. I don't suggest that you leave it on the hull. Sand it all off.
