Anti-fouling paint

I have read that as long as the boat is not constantly in the water, it's not needed below the water line. what are your opinions on this? thanks

yes just paint it white<br /><br />as for the anti-foul use it only if the boat is in the water for 2 week or more

Fwiw, most recommendation is 4 days max in the ocean without bottom coat. Powerboat-Reports says a week. PBR does comprehensive testing of bottom coats; I’d go with their recommendation.<br /><br />So if you will be doing outings with your boat in the water for a week or so at a time, you may want to consider bottom coat. Otherwise, as was mentioned above, boats on trailers don’t benefit from bottom coating.

Many antifouling paints are designed to be immersed in water the whole time, if you keep your boat on a trailer they quickly lose their effectiveness.
