HELP! How to remove glue on floor

I have a 1974 Wellcraft V-20 CC Step hull. On the floor there were non-skid pads that from age peeled when we were cleaning and washing out the inside and the glue remained on the white floor and I can not remove it what can I use to get it off with out damaging the finish........

If its Gel coat, you can use paint remover. Use it on a small spot first, make a scraper from a wooden stir stick. Just do small spots at a time. After done, wipe with acetone or Laquer thinner, again, small spots at a time.

The floor is paint and the texture is dimpled.....

It depends on what kind of paint that was used. In autostores they have a product called gum-remover, sometimes that will do it. Some ureathane paints resists lacquer thinner or gas, which removes some dryed out glues. Is there a non visible spot somewhere you can test on ??

If this is a contact type adhesive then most hardware shops will stock a contact type adhesive remover, normaly benzene based, two part adhesives are a different story, I think the best thing to do is try and establish the type of glue in question and then contact the glue manufacturers and ask them what type of solvent to use, solvents like MEK (methyl ethyl cloride) will remove the glue but will remove any sort of paint,as well, seems to be ok with gell coat. be carefull of unknown solvents, both benzene and MEK are flamable so be carefull.<br />Kind Regards.<br />Willaim Wright,
