hi, i own an '89 open bow maxum and i'm planning on replacing the carpet soon. The floor seems pretty strong however it is getting up there in age and probably isnt in the best of shape. I was wondering if it it would be worth it to throw a coat of epoxy over the floor once i get the old carpet ripped up? i mean to protect the floor longer and possibly even strengthen it up. obvioulsy, epoxy resin isnt cheap so should i bother ?

not really. I wouldn't bother. A thick, good quality carpet adheasive will act sorta like a sealer anyways. Bottom line - a extra coat of epoxy won't add strength to your floor.

cheers

When you pull the carpet up. Take a screwdriver and poke all the floor. If a little soft, pick out the soft rot, let the wood completly dry out. Coat with THIN only epoxy. Put down carpet.
