what kind of rivets?

now I am wondering what rivets to use for the hull to deck join. the ones that were in there had a steel pin that rusted out. also there was some that had 3 tabs that peeled out like a banana skin. can you help?

If you can get to the backside to buck the shop head, use aircraft quality AD rivits. They can handle stress better than pop rivits. Go to just about any FBO at an airport to get them.<br /><br />If you want to use the pop rivitsbecause of the ease, make sure you file any burrs and then use zinc chromate before paint. That should work just fine.

I cant use bucked rivets as this is a fiberglass boat. I spent 7 years bucking rivets at The Boeing Company and have no desire to ever go back to doing that.

You can find Standard All Aluminum Pop Rivets almost Anywhere.......<br /><br />Just make Sure they have the Aluminum pins,+ you'll be Just Fine......
