Apartment Living where do I park?

I live in an apartment community and was planning to buy my first boat. A small 18' runabout. Where should I park this thing? I live in maryland, what are my options? Can I park it in a regular marked spot and just store it over the winter?? Anybody in the same situation??<br /><br />I would like to keep the boat on a trailer so that I can make quick weekend trips to parks/lakes in the area. Docking it or storing it at a distance can make that idea a little less feasible.

When I lived in a apartment we could park ours in the back roll but we had to keep all stickers valid and tires air up at all time.

My kids have lived in apartments and the only rule seems to be that every one varies. Talk to the leasing agent to see what their rules are. Around here, the temporary storage facilities usually have a place for boats, etc. too.

Do you have a buddy with a house and a generous disposition? You may need that if the landlord does not allow boats to be parked on the premesis. Definately don't keep anything valuable in it, make sure it has a locking bolt on the stern drive or outboard. Up here I see boats in apt parking lots, and I see lots of kids playing in those boats. Make sure you don't fall victim to a similar fate. Poorly disciplined kids can be worse than a cat when it comes to boats. Good luck....

Depends on the place. If there's no assigned parking then probably OK. If there's assigned parking then you can usually put whatever fits in the space in there. If the boat fits then great, as long as you still have another space or a street to aprk your vehicle on.

Don't even THINK about it without checking with the apartment/grounds manager. If you don't you'll be sorry and it will be YOUR fault.<br /><br />I once lived in a apratment complex that wouldn't allow a canoe on top of my car. They showed me the rule in the lease.<br /><br />My fault, I didn't read it.
